Publisher's Note: Measurements of cross sections and decay properties of the isotopes of elements 112, 114, and 116 produced in the fusion reactions 233,238 U, 242 Pu, and 248 Cm+ 48 Ca [Phys. Rev. C 70, 064609 (2004)]
The heights of the symmetric and asymmetric fission barriers have been found to be different for 213At. The difference accounts for the anomalous energy dependence of the symmetric to asymmetric yield ratio and confirms theoretical predictions on the occurrence of distinct valleys in the structure of the fission barrier in the pre-actinide region.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
