Neben dem optischen oder mechanischen Bewegungserfassungssystem ist es m€ oglich, die relative Position einer PC-Maus auch mit miniaturisierten thermischen Str€ omungssensoren zu bestimmen. Diese werden in zwei zylinderf€ ormige Hohlr€ aume auf der Mausunterseite integriert und detektieren kleinste Luftstr€ omungen, die sich aufgrund der Mausbewegung ergeben. Mit der orthogonalen Anordnung der Str€ omungssensoren lassen sich die zwei Geschwindigkeitskomponenten unabh€ angig voneinander messen. Um die optimalen Hohlraumabmessungen zu finden, werden zwei-und dreidimensionale Simulationsmodelle entwickelt. Die abschließende Charakterisierung des Ger€ ates im Labor ergibt gute Ü bereinstimmung zwischen Mess-und Simulationsergebnissen. Die Simulationen mittels Finite-Elemente-Methode (FEM) stellen somit eine geeignete M€ oglichkeit dar, um das Sensorverhalten in einer neuen Anwendungsumgebung zu prognostizieren und die Entwicklung eines optimalen Designs zu erleichtern. EinleitungMiniaturisierte thermische Str€ omungssensoren kommen insbesondere zur Durchflussmessung in verschiedensten technischen Anwendungsgebieten zur Verwendung. Eine alternative Einsatzm€ oglichkeit besteht in der Positionsbestimmung einer PC-Maus. Durch die Miniaturisierung sind thermische Sensoren nicht nur sehr empfindlich, sondern haben € uberdies eine sehr kleine Reaktionszeit, was bei PC-M€ ausen unbedingt erforderlich ist. Wegen der kleinen Abmessungen des Str€ omungssensors ist der Leistungsverbrauch sehr niedrig, und dadurch kann die Akkulaufzeit von tragbaren Ger€ aten entschieden verl€ angert werden. Durch die M€ oglichkeit einer kosteng€ unstigen Massenproduktion werden die auf Str€ omungssensoren basierenden PC-M€ ause kommerziell attraktiv und somit zu einer echten Konkurrenz gegen€ uber herk€ ommlichen auf dem Markt befindlichen Ger€ aten.
