Aim of study, to evaluate the effect of Maternity Intensive Care training program on Nurses' Practical achievement. Setting: The study was conducted at intensive care unit, at Ain Shams University Maternity Hospital. Quasi-experimental Design was utilized. A convenient sample was obtained, including all nurses (40 nurses) who were worked and accepted to participate in study, at previously mentioned study setting. Tools of Data Collection were Arabic Structured interviewing questionnaire and Observational checklist in addition to instruction supportive material. The results showed statistically significant improvements in nurses' practice at immediately, and after three months of intervention , study revealed that high significant relation between before & immediately, and after three months of intervention related to Nurse's skills (Before intervention and After three months of intervention). It also revealed highly significant relation between Nurse's skills with age, Qualification and Years of Experience .In conclusion, implementing training educational program for maternity intensive care was effective to enhance nurses' practice achievement, which was a better achievement of patients' needs. Therefore, it is recommended that this educational program be used in other settings for confirmation of the results and for improvement of the training program.
This study aims to identify the role of educating the mothers sexually for protecting their children against harassment. It highlights the importance of choosing the Middle childhood period, the role of family in sexual education, methods of mothers' education, reasons of harassment and how to preserve our children against sexual harassment.Through reviewing the literature, and the theoretical framework, the researcher concluded that in case of not educating mothers sexually about their children, the children will be prone to sexual harassment. Accordingly, by providing mothers with needed simplified information suitable for their age group, and allowing a space of dialogue to mothers with their children to reply to their answers, will lessen the risk of exposing them to harassment.
Background: obstetric emergencies are life threatening medical condition that occurs during pregnancy, labor, or in the postpartum period. Moreover, internship offer carefully planned, monitored work experience which allow the opportunity to apply knowledge and skills in a professional setting. Aim: to evaluate the effect of emergency obstetric protocol on the performance of intern nursing students. Subjects and Methods: a quasi experimental design was utilized. Sample: a convenient sample, all female intern nursing students (100) in the technical institute of nursing, faculty of nursing Ain-Shams University in the academic year (2019/2020) and Purposive sample, 59 conscious women with obstetric emergencies who agreed to participate in the study and with non co-morbid condition. Setting: The study was conducted in technical institute of nursing faculty of nursing and in emergency unit, intensive care unit and labor unit of maternity hospital Ain-Shams University. Tools: Tool 1 self-administered structured questionnaire sheet, Tool 2 observational checklist Tool 3 maternal satisfaction questionnaire sheet. Results: showed statistically significant improvements in intern nurses' knowledge and practical skills related to emergency obstetric care immediately post protocol intervention and in follow up phase and increase women satisfaction level toward care provided by intern nurse, study confirmed statistically significant positive correlation between intern nurse's knowledge and practice related to emergency obstetric care post intervention and statistically significant positive correlation between intern nurse's knowledge, practice and women satisfaction post protocol intervention. Conclusion: Implementing emergency obstetric protocol had a positive effect on the performance of intern nursing students. Recommendations: Dissemination of emergency obstetric protocol for all intern nursing students in technical nursing institutions this will be effective in improving their performance.
The study was aimed to: Investigate student nurse's knowledge and attitude concerning uterine malignancy.Research design: A descriptive study design was used. Sample: convenient sample of 200 students was obtained from technical institute of nursing, Faculty of Nursing Ain Shams University. Tools: First tools, Self administered questionnaire schedule to assess student nurses' general characteristics and their knowledge regarding uterine malignancy. Second tool, questionnaire to assess student nurses' attitude regarding uterine malignancy. Results: (46%) among studied students had correct knowledge while (54%) among studied students had incorrect knowledge about uterine malignancy, more than 42% of studied students were reported the source of their knowledge was from education. (88.5%)among studied students had positive attitude toward uterine malignancy. There were statistically significant differences between studied students sex, marital status, academic year, qualification and knowledge. There were statistically significant difference between studied student marital status and attitude regarding uterine malignancy. There were statistically significant positive correlation between total studied student's knowledge and total studied student's attitude. Conclusion: More than two fifth of studied student's had correct knowledge and Majority among studied students had positive attitude toward uterine malignancy. The study recommended that; the undergraduate technical institute curriculum must be revised and the issue of uterine malignancy must be integrated in the undergraduate course specs. Further research are needed to investigate student nurses' practical skills regarding care of women with uterine malignancy at gynecological oncology department.
