The scaphoïd pseudarthrosis is the most common complication of fractures of the carpal bones. This is a retrospective study of 16 observations of non-union of the carpal scaphoid, collected at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Rabat, over a period of 4 years from 2018 to 2022.The average age is 29,8 years, with a male predominance (94%). Initially, it was an orthopedic treatment in 4 cases and the fracture was unknown in 12 cases. In our serie according to Schernberg classification : 1 case was stage I (6%). 8 cases were Stage II (50%). 4 cases were Stage III (25%). 3 cases were stage IV (17 %). According to the classification of Alnot : 3 cases were stage I (19%), 4 cases were stage IIA (25%), 2 cases were stage IIB (12 %), 5 cases were stage III (31%), two cases were stage IV (13%). The consolidation was achieved in 91%. The purpose of this study is to describe the epidemiological and clinical radio carpal scaphoid non-unions and show the interest of MATTI-RUSSE technique. The clinical and radiological results are reported and analyzed according to the literature.
Osteoid osteoma is a benign primary bone tumor. This tumor is relatively commom; it represents 12 % of all benign bone tumors and about 2 to 3 % of all bone tumors. We report in this work a case of osteoid osteoma which underwent arthroscopic resection. This study concerns a 19-year-old patient referred for chronic ankle pain evolving for 6 months.
A molluscum pendulum or fibroepithelial polyp is a benign and frequent cutaneous tumor formation, in the form of a polyp, which forms a pedunculated growth. They usually develop in the neck, armpits or groin.
Chronic ankle instability is one possible course in the natural history of acute ankle sprain. It represents 10% to 30% of sprain sequelae. Surgical treatment is reserved for patients with persistent ankle instability after rehabilitation causing disabling discomfort. The technique of ligamentoplasty using the peroneus brevis according to Castaing is the most popular in Morocco. The simplicity of the gesture and its good results encouraged us to pursue this path. This is a retrospective study of 24 patients who underwent fibular brevis ligamentoplasty according to Castaing between January 2017 and June 2020. The minimum follow-up was one year. The evaluation of the patients was based on the Karlson score and the “Ankle score” Molander and Olerud. Patients are satisfied or very satisfied with the intervention in 80% of cases reviewed. The functional results of our patients are comparable to those published in the literature. Removal of the peroneus brevis transplant does not seem to have any impact on ankle stability. Patients maintain satisfactory foot eversion with comparable force to the opposite side. The evolution of osteoarthritis of the ankle does not seem significant after this surgery. The weak point of our study is the number of patients lost to follow-up, this is linked to the youth of the operated population and to the recruitment of the nationwide service.
