A survey of magnetic core material models is the first rtep in an effort to identify tho= suitable for power electronks applications. This paper classifier many of the existing models and outlines some of their main features.
A set of design oriented experiments is being developed for the introductory circuits and electronics laboratones which have several goals: to strengthen the study offrequency domain concepts, to connect the circuits and electronics laboratory experiences into a cohesive whole, and tu motivate the study of traditional transistor amplijier conjigurations. A thematic approach is used based upon the use of op-amp circuits and the design of operational amplijiers. This paper describes the experiments under development and presents some of our current everiences.
Tomorrow's engineers will look nothing like the engineers of the past. Aside from a proficiency in core, technical knowledge, tomorrow's engineers will require a collection of non-engineering skills and competencies to successfully function in a dynamic, global environment. Technical competency will always be viewed as an integral skill; differential advantage however, will be gained by those individuals that can communicate effectively, and participate fully in an organization's different functional realms. What has motivated this vision and rethinking of the engineering discipline? Where are we in the journey to prepare our students for an engineering working environment characterized by a global, integrated and multidisciplinary nature? And finally, is it possible, or should it be necessary, for traditional engineering education systems to fundamentally change to meet corporate requirements? These are but a few of the compelling issues discussed in this paper.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
