Suwzntai~j~The anodic oxidation of organic acids, RICO,H, in the presence of substrates of the type CH, = CRZ-Y (IT = CHO, COMe, CO,Et, and CX) leads with good yields to duplication products of general formula (R1CH2-CI12-Y),.
A systematic study of the anodic oxidation of β-ketocarboxylate anions in aqueous or hydroorganic solvents allows to distinguish the factors directing this reaction. Thus, it is possible by the appropriate choice of reaction medium and the structure of the starting ion to synthesize products such as γ diketones, ethylenic ketones and ketoamides. The mode of formation of these last two classes of compound involves an α-ketocarbonium ion which is usually difficult to obtain. scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
