T he paper deals with the co mmon mode c urre nt issue in a multidrive syste m. Co mmon mode c urre nts are caused by stee p variatio ns o f the common mode vo ltage, stric tly re lated to the seque nce of the inverter state s during the vo ltage pulse width modulatio n. A n inexpensive technique that allows compe nsatio n of the co mmon mode vo ltage variatio n in multidrive syste ms co mposed o f two o r more inverters is pro posed in orde r to e liminate the co mmon mode c urrents.T he co mmon mode c urre nt paths and ge neratio n mec hanisms are revie wed and the in uence of the inverte r state seque nce o n the co mmon mode vo ltage and curre nts is po inted o ut. Based on suc h conside ratio ns, a new digital P W M modulation strategy is introduced to compe nsate the common mode vo ltage variatio ns gene rated in a two P W M inverte r syste m.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
