Semen (collected by digital manipulation) and peripheral blood samples were obtained twice weekly from five fully grown Beagle dogs for a twelve month period from 1st August to 31st July. Sperm concentration, sperm output and glycerylphosphorylcholine concentrations of the second fraction showed evidence of a seasonal variation with highest values recorded in the months of March, April, May and June. The libido of the dogs, volume of ejaculate, percentage dead and abnormal spermatozoa, sperm motility and plasma testosterone concentration showed no evidence of seasonal change.
