Underwater acoustic (UWA) multiuser network algorithms can only be fully tested through experimental studies where communication signals are transmitted through a real underwater channel. Reconfigurable UWA modem provides a flexible environment for the testing of different communication algorithms including networking protocols. In this paper we present design, implementation, and testing of a physical layer algorithm on reconfigurable acoustic modem. This physical layer is very flexible; therefore it can easily be modified in order to be employed for the testing of different UWA networking algorithms.
We demonstrate real-time transmission of 16 Tb/s (80x200Gb/s) over 1020km TeraWave ULL fiber with 170km span length using the world's first 200Gb/s CFP2-DCO module with a record low power consumption less than 0.1W/Gbps.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
