Burning velocity, flame temperature and thickness of the reaction zone have been measured in different cyanogen/oxygen/nitrogen and hydrogen cyanide/oxygen/ nitrogen mixtures. Some measurements have been made also on CaNa/Oz/Na mixtures with addition of hydrogen. Kinetical parameters have been derived: activation energy and reaction order. A kinetical mechanism has been proposed which is based on observations made by others in some studies using the technique of flash photolysis. The experimental study of laminar flame propagation in flammable mixtures involves the determination of three characteristic magnitudes: burning velocity, maximum flame temperature and thickness of the flame reaction zone. The methods which were applied in this work have been described in a previous publication [a.(*)
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
