Following the publication of the findings of the Army intelligence tests relating to race differences, it was widely assumed that there were basic racial differences in intelligence. During the 1920's and 1930's this view came under attack on many grounds. In this article, comparisons within the "Negro" group are studied to see what light they shed on the nature of the differences. You should follow the argument closely and especially note the assumptions on which the "corollaries" rest. Note also that the differences in test score between the Negro and white populations are not at issue here.
