Os desastres ambientais têm ocorrido de maneira mais frequente, principalmente, aqueles de origem associada às condições climáticas, como inundações e deslizamentos. Este trabalho tem como objetivo propositar o mapeamento de indicadores físico-ambientais para subsidiar a análise de risco geomorfológico na bacia hidrográfica do rio Parauapebas (PA). Para tanto, a metodologia fora fundamentada em preceitos da teoria da ecodinâmica (TRICART, 1977), baseada na relação entre pedogênese e morfogênese, vislumbrando a análise de variáveis e critérios adotados na estimativa da fragilidade do meio ambiente (ROSS, 1994). Como resultado, foram identificados quatro classes de risco – muito baixo, baixo, moderado e alto. Nesse sentido, a bacia hidrográfica do rio Parauapebas demonstrou um panorama preocupante diante do risco geomorfológico, considerando o fato que a mesma apresenta um considerável potencial a ocorrência de desastres, uma vez que, aproximadamente, a metade da área é constituída por moderado a alto risco geomorfológico, podendo, entretanto, ser potencializado pela expansão acelerada de atividades antrópicas, como a urbanização e a mineração
Resumo Este artigo visa analisar o uso do solo e os indicadores de qualidade de vida renda, educação e saneamento na Bacia do Mata Fome em Belém, Pará através de uma comparação entre tais indicadores em três tipologias construtivas: ocupação espontânea, conjunto habitacional popular e condomínio de status. Além disso, foi realizado o mapeamento do uso do solo na área de estudo. Os resultados obtidos a partir da comparação entre os indicadores permitiram concluir que, entre 2000 e 2010 houve melhoria da qualidade de vida nas três tipologias urbanas, mas também foi constatado que há uma grande disparidade na qualidade de vida entre as tipologias construtivas, especialmente na ocupação espontânea onde seus moradores vivem em condições degradantes.
