a b s t r a c tThis paper aims to identify the differences and similarities in the way to explain self-organization from the different theories of complex systems used in management, which we have grouped as complex systems theories, complex adaptive systems (CAS) and organizational cybernetics. For this purpose we suggest three parallel and complementary dimensions to delimit the conceptual spaces where these theories can be placed. Using this classification as an analytical lens we summarize the core arguments suggested by each of these complex systems approaches, regarding the ideas of emergence and new order. This analysis helps us to conclude that the three theories coincide in their interest for studying nonlinear complex systems, but diverge in the nature of the complex problems studied. Finally we analyze the consequences that recognizing the similarities and differences between these approaches have, when using them for the study and research of social and business organizations and their management. The purpose of this document is to identify complexity adaptative systems (CAS) characteristics, as well as determining the implications of applying this to the study of organizations. A review was made of the results of investigations published in journals on the introduction of scientific complexity into the administration, as well as the results of research groups and institutes working on this topic. Based on comparative studies of the proposals observed, it is suggested that CASs may be understood from the emergence, self-organization, and evolution of a company. Understanding the organization from this outlook leads to lines of research on leadership, strategy, making decision-making, construction of joint actions, all in complex systems
Introduction: This review article is the product of the research project Observatory for Labor Insertion and Strengthening of Employability in Countries of the Alliance of the Pacific (Emple-AP), developed at the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas in 2019. The aim of the project is to contribute to improving employability rates and the creation of a regional observatory. Problem: Employability is a complex social construct [1] [2], which varies depending on factors such as the actors involved and the focus emphasis. Objective: Build the concept of employability for the Emple-AP project, and, according to this, derive the indicators following the guidelines established for the creation of the employability observatory. Methodology: The construction of the concept is supported in the ontology design and validation of the results is performed by a panel of experts. Results: The results of the literature review regarding the concepts and employability rates are presented, followed by the design of the ontology and the employability construct that branches from it. Finally, employability indicators are designed and verified by the expert panel. Conclusion: Employability is defined according to the context in which it is immersed. Originality: Construct development under ontology design facilitates semantic heterogeneity problems, because it provides a conceptually shared language to represent information. Limitations: The construct is so complex and wide that it is necessary to perform several iterations under specialized methodologies until it is perfected.
