Flowsheet simulation offers the possibility to simulate a complete process by the application of suitable short-cut models. In this contribution a novel model for a spray dryer based on a population balance approach is presented. Furthermore, a dynamic model for a fluidized bed dryer is introduced. Experimental data is used for validation and parameter optimization. The calibrated models are then used to design an industrial drying process of multiple drying stages.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
