A busca pelo rejuvenescimento é um desejo prevalente na sociedade atual, impulsionado pelo avanço tecnológico na área da saúde, que tem proporcionado o surgimento de novas técnicas para aprimorar a estética. A face, onde as características individuais se expressam, é composta por camadas complexas de tecido, sendo a pele o maior órgão, composto por epiderme, derme e hipoderme. Com o envelhecimento, ocorre a perda de gordura subcutânea e a redução de colágeno dérmico, resultando em sulcos e depressões faciais. Para combater esses efeitos, a utilização de fibrina rica em plaquetas (PRF) tem sido amplamente estudada, oferecendo benefícios para a pele. O PRF possui potencial de regeneração tecidual, é biocompatível e tem custo clínico acessível. Na harmonização orofacial (HOF), o objetivo do PRF é repor ou regular a atividade celular responsável pela remodelação da pele, revertendo os efeitos do envelhecimento da derme. Sua composição autóloga, rica em fatores de crescimento e proteínas plasmáticas, proporciona uma abordagem natural e eficaz. Além disso, o PRF libera fatores de crescimento de forma prolongada, potencializando os efeitos regenerativos e a cicatrização acelerada. Sua aplicação por profissionais qualificados, utilizando técnicas específicas, tem demonstrado resultados positivos na redução de rugas, linhas de expressão e melhora geral da pele. O PRF apresenta vantagens em relação a outras abordagens, como o PRP, incluindo custo reduzido e menor risco de reações imunogênicas e transmissão de doenças. Dessa forma, o objetivo deste artigo é realizar uma revisão narrativa da literatura sobre a aplicação do PRF na HOF.
