Purpose This study aimed at analyzing the factors that induce the intention of contribution by participants in crowdsourcing initiatives. Design/methodology/approach This study is an explanatory investigation using a quantitative approach. In the second stage, an exploratory study was carried out. Data were obtained through online questionnaires available to the contributors of two platforms, and results were obtained from a regression analysis. Findings The results revealed a greater importance given by participants to intrinsic motivational factors (learning, fun and satisfaction) compared with the extrinsic motivational factor (acknowledgment). Monetary rewards proved irrelevant in this process, whereas attitude and self-efficacy proved good predictors of the intention of contribution in crowdsourcing initiatives. Originality/value No study, as far as the authors’ knowledge extends, has been undertaken to understand what motivations are more relevant in the context of crowdsourcing platforms using multiple theories.
Catarse.

The author describes television as a factor of influence in the sexual (mis)education in adolescence. He considers the role of eroticism in televison as a disfuncional factor in the sexual education of youth. In accordance with its pervasion, accesibility and attractive and seductive contents TV may be considered an alternative source and an efficient instrument of sexual (mis)education, because adolescents find in it a lot of information that satisfies their curiosity about the sexual world of adults. This occurs through a process of more and more explicit eroticism that abuses the freedom of sexual expression and exihibition and transmits all kinds of sexual information: faithful, correct, tendencious, preconceptual, ambiguous and distorted.J. pediatr. (Rio J.). 1995; 71(5):248-254: television, sexual education, eroticism.
The objective of this work is to analyze to what extent attitude, self-efficacy and altruism influence the effort and the active contributions in Wikipedia. Using the Theory of Planned Behavior and knowledge of the literature of online communities as basis, a new conceptual model was proposed. Such a model differs from the models previously proposed by considering altruism in its various facets, by identification, reciprocity and reputation, and by treating effort as antecedent of performance results, in the case measured in terms of active contributions, in agreement with already consolidated organizational literature. To achieve the specific objectives of the study, Wikipedia was analyzed through a multimethod approach with application of questionnaires for members and documentary research to obtain secondary data. After the exclusion of outliers, the final sample was 212 participants. An exploratory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were performed, which resulted in obtaining a model with satisfactory fit indices. The results indicate that effort influences the active contributions; Attitude, altruism by reputation and altruism by identification influence effort; None of the proposed factors are directly related to active contributions; And experience directly influences self-efficacy while positively moderating the relationship between effort and active contributions. Finally, the implications of such discoveries are presented for literature and for Wikipedia, and a research agenda for future studies is suggested.
