A fibromialgia (FM) é uma síndrome relativamente comum caracterizada por dor musculoesquelética crônica generalizada concomitante a vários sintomas somáticos e psicológicos. Estima-se que sua prevalência está na faixa de 2% a 7%. A grande maioria dos pacientes tratados são do sexo feminino, brancos e de meia-idade - em torno de 50 anos. Além disso, esses pacientes apresentam alterações em diversos aspectos sociais e pessoais que interferem na qualidade de vida em geral. Alterações do humor, queixas de cansaço intenso, dificuldades para dormir, problemas para realizar atividades e ocupações comuns são os principais obstáculos enfrentados por esses pacientes no dia a dia. Este estudo teve como objetivo conhecer melhor o perfil dos fibromiálgicos e a interferência dos fatores associados à doença em sua qualidade de vida. Por isso, foi realizado um estudo transversal e quantitativo a partir da aplicação de um formulário construído pelos próprios pesquisadores, com o Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire (FIQ) validado no Brasil, contendo 40 questões, além do questionário com variáveis sociodemográficas e dicotómicas, e a escala visual analógica de dor (EVA). O estudo incluiu pacientes de três hospitais de Aracaju-SE, e os dados foram coletados por meio da aplicação de formulários durante as consultas. Os dados coletados foram utilizados para determinar o perfil epidemiológico e o impacto na qualidade de vida dos pacientes com fibromialgia. Os resultados deste estudo fornecem uma melhor compreensão do perfil dos pacientes com fibromialgia e a interferência dos fatores associados à doença em sua qualidade de vida.
Desde 11 de março de 2020, o mundo vive uma nova pandemia do coronavírus, causada pela doença COVID-19, o que resultou em diversas mudanças no cotidiano. A preocupação de sobrecarregar o sistema de saúde e o medo de contrair o vírus podem ter levado a apresentações tardias e piores desfechos para pacientes com quadros agudos. O objetivo do estudo é identificar e relatar os efeitos da pandemia nos serviços de cirurgias de urgência. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, com abordagem descritiva. A pesquisa bibliográfica teve como questão norteadora “Quais os impactos da pandemia de COVID-19 nos serviços de emergência cirúrgica?”. As bases de dados utilizadas foram: SciELO, PubMed e LILACS, com base nos descritores "COVID-19" e "Serviços Médicos de Emergência", utilizando o operador booleano AND. Não houve alterações significativas em relação ao sexo e à idade. O número de atendimentos reduziu em 21%. As taxas de complicações aumentaram 48%, juntamente com a taxa de mortalidade, que aumentou 12%, e a taxa de apresentação tardia aos serviços de emergência em 37,4%. A pandemia do novo SARS-CoV 2 influenciou significativamente a assistência dos sistemas de saúde. Nesse período, houve redução dessas cirurgias e do número de eventos agudos, como traumas. Várias hipóteses têm sido postuladas para explicar esse comportamento, incluindo o isolamento social e as informações veiculadas pela mídia sobre a situação nos hospitais, o que aumenta a demora na procura por serviços de emergência e aumenta a taxa de mortalidade.
Objetivo: caracterizar a situação epidemiológica dos casos de câncer de colo de útero no brasil de 2016 a 2021, afim de analisar as notificações diagnósticas das lesões precursoras e dos óbitos. Métodos: trata-se de um estudo epidemiológico observacional descritivo, com abordagem quantitativa através de dados secundários a partir de informações de saúde obtidas na base de dados do Sistema de Informações Hospitalares do SUS (SIH/SUS) e o Sistema de Informações do Câncer (SISCAN). Resultados/Discussão: observou-se entre os anos de 2016 a 2021 um número de 28.789 casos notificados de neoplasias em pacientes com idade entre 15 a 29 anos no Brasil. Ao analisar o perfil dos indivíduos com câncer de colo de útero, constatou-se que a maioria apresenta NIC I e na faixa etária entre 25-29 anos. Com relação aos óbitos, a faixa etária mais prevalente foi de 25-29 anos, em mulheres pardas e na região Sudeste. Em Sergipe, a faixa de maior incidência foi de 25-29 anos. Conclusão: os dados analisados colaboram para compreensão da epidemiologia do câncer de colo de útero no Brasil, além de direcionar ações de promoção, prevenção e de reabilitação da saúde. Por fim, é de suma importância que hajam novos estudos epidemiológicos principalmente nas regiões de maior incidência e nas regiões com poucos dados documentados.
A COVID-19, relatada pela primeira vez na China em dezembro de 2019, foi declarada uma emergência de saúde pública em janeiro de 2020 pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS). A consequência dessa pandemia gerou um grande impacto na rotina diária dos indivíduos, repercutindo negativamente em pacientes com dores crônicas. A fibromialgia (FM) é uma condição crônica, caracterizada pela presença de dor generalizada, fadiga, distúrbios do sono e alterações cognitivas. Sua prevalência é alta, estimada em 2,5% no Brasil, sendo mais comum em mulheres. Fatores demográficos, socioeconômicos e psicossociais foram associados à maior intensidade da dor e interferência durante o distanciamento social nesses pacientes. Esse impacto está relacionado com o fechamento das clínicas e dos espaços de atividades físicas; desvio dos profissionais de saúde para atividades relacionadas ao COVID-19, aumentando o tempo de espera das consultas; atrasos no acesso oportuno aos medicamentos devido à prescrição reduzida; a redução de consultas multiprofissionais, podem ter favorecido na diminuição da qualidade de vida (QV). O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a interferência desses fatores na QV e na dor dos pacientes durante a pandemia. Pacientes fibromiálgicos de três clínicas em Aracaju- SE foram entrevistados a partir de questionários. Os dados deste estudo sugerem associação entre o bloqueio pandêmico do COVID-19 e o agravamento dos sintomas da fibromialgia, assim como a qualidade de vida dos pacientes que convivem com essa doença, principalmente quando avaliados a dor, humor e sono. A interrupção do tratamento e a presença de outras comorbidades associadas, pioraram a condição de saúde.
