Palavras-chave: estudantes dos PALOP, procedimentos inclusivos, interculturalidade AbstractThe increasing diversification of the international students at the Polytechnic of Guarda (IPG) has revealed problems associated specifically with the students from the Portuguese-Speaking African Countries (PALOP), which has warranted an action response from the group of researchers of the Higher Education Network for Intercultural Mediation (RESMI). Applying the principles of equality, difference, and positive interaction defined for Intercultural Mediation (Romero, 2010), the researchers distributed a questionnaire that, in turn, revealed not only personal difficulties but also problems that can be understood as situational and cultural. To reinforce a more comprehensive and advantageous integration -both academically and socially -appropriate instruments for analysis were applied to the problems so that decisions could be made, one of which was the creation of an Office for Intercultural Mediation. Keywords: PALOP students, inclusive procedures, interculturality.
