En este trabao, utiliando la subescala de ansiedad de FennemaSherman, analiamos los niveles de ansiedad en matemáticas que presentan alumnos universitarios de primer curso, tanto de manera global como en unción del género y las ramas de conocimiento. Globalmente los suetos presentan una ansiedad inerior al valor neutro. as mueres presentan una ansiedad significativamente mayor que los hombres. También son significativas las dierencias entre ramas de conocimiento, siendo los alumnos de titulaciones técnicas los que menor ansiedad presentan, y los de las carreras sanitarias quienes registran los valores más altos.Palabras clave. Aective responses play an essential role in the process o teachinglearning Mathematics. The math anxiety» has ocused a large number o investigations. In this paper, using the FennemaSherman Mathematics Anxiety Subscale, we have analyed the math anxiety levels o beginner university students. We have done this study in a global way and classiying the subects by gender and by the fields o knowledge o their degrees. Overall, subects have an anxiety below the neutral value, which is good. Women have a significantly greater anxiety among men. There are also significant dierences between fields o knowledge. Students rom technical degrees are the ones who show less anxiety. Students o health degrees recorded the highest values.Keywords. En la actualidad existe conciencia de la influencia de los aspectos aec tivos en la educación. Éstos han empeado a cobrar importancia en la medida en que los educadores han apreciado la influencia que tienen sobre el aprendiae escolar (Hernánde, 1996). De esta preocupación por los aspectos aectivos son muestra los trabaos realiados en nuestro entorno (Arauo, Jiméne y Rosich, 2006;
