This paper describes locating systems in indoors halfmanufactured environments using wireless communications framework. Such framework is available through existing communications hardware as is the case of ZigBee standard. Using this framework as locating system can provide trilateration scheme using receiver signal strength indication (RSSI) measurements. An experiment shows RSSI measurement errors and some filters are developed to minimize them. These results present some insights to future RSSI development strategies in order to obtain efficient locating systems.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
