Introdução: A idade materna avançada é um assunto muito discutido no meio acadêmico. Além dos riscos fetais já conhecidos, indaga-se sobre os prejuízos acerca da qualidade do leite produzido. Objetivos: Identificar correlações entre idade materna e a atividade antioxidante do leite materno fresco. Métodos: Foram selecionados 70 puérperas, 40 com filhos hígidos e 30 internados em uma maternidade de referência do Espírito Santo, doaram de amostras de 5mL de leite materno, além de dados retirados da análise de seus prontuários. O leite foi armazenado em frascos âmbar e levado ao laboratório da Universidade Vila Velha, em menos de 2 horas após a coleta, para análise pelos métodos de redução do Ferro (FRAP), quantificação de proteínas totais (BRADFORD) e peroxidação lipídica (TBARS). A tabulação de dados foi feita em banco de dados do Excel e a análise estatística utilizando o software Graphpad (San Diego, CA, EUA 176). Foi feito o Teste T não paramétrico aceitando como variação significativa p <0,05. Resultados: A variação de idade foi de 14 a 42 anos, sendo a média de idade igual a 27 anos. A média geral do leite materno fresco apresentou absorbância pelo método FRAP de 70,50 +/-4,20 mg/dl, quantidade de proteínas totais de 10,97 +/-0,45 mg/dl e quantificação da peroxidação lipídica de 17,66+/-1,73 MDA/mg proteína. Porém, quando dividimos os grupos pela média das idades, percebemos que as mães com menos de 27 anos apresentaram de 69,31+/-4,29 mg/dl no FRAP, 11,95 +/-0,49 mg/dl de proteínas totais e peroxidação lipídica de 24,47 +/-1,94 MDA/mg proteína. Em contrapartida, mães acima da idade de corte possuíam médias de 59,50 +/-4,07 mg/dl no FRAP, 11,00 +/-1,87 mg/dl no BRADFORD e 19,06+/-0,41 MDA/mg proteína no teste TBARS. Conclusão: A idade materna demonstra ação na modulação das substâncias expressas no leite. Porém, essas diferenças se dão além do alcance analítico, uma vez que particularidades psicossociais não foram juntamente analisadas. Tais diferenças, portanto, são individuais e não necessariamente demonstram superioridades uma sobre a outra.
Introdução: Este artigo é um estudo observacional analítico que demonstra como o controle do traço e estado de ansiedade materna, além da utilização do Método Canguru, são importantes ferramentas de auxílio da evolução neonatal. Objetivo: Objetiva-se identificar o impacto da ansiedade materna e o local de internação das crianças no perfil do leite materno oferecido. Métodos: Foi aplicado o questionário IDATE estado e traço para as mães de neonatos internatos, sendo quantificado a ansiedade em alta, média e baixa. O leite materno foi testado quanto ao potencial proteico total, próoxidante e antioxidante pelos testes de Bradford, TBARS, ABTS e FRAP. A tabulação de dados foi feita em banco de dados do Excel e a análise estatística utilizando o software Graphpad (San Diego, CA, EUA 176). Foi feito o Teste T não paramétrico aceitando como variação significativa p <0,05. %. Resultados: Considerando a amostra de 50 mães, encontrou-se em médias laboratoriais gerais: 11,96+/-0,30 mg/dl de proteínas totais, 25,05+/-0,57 MDA/mg proteína de quantificação de peroxidação lipídica; 30,67% de inibição pelo teste ABTS; 63,72% de inibição no teste FRAP. Entre as mães da unidade canguru, 66,6% apresentavam traço de baixa ansiedade, por outro lado, o traço de baixa ansiedade foi encontrado em 58,3% na unidade convencional e 20% no grupo controle. Pacientes com estado de ansiedade baixo apresentaram maior concentração proteica, com variação significativa quando comparado com pacientes estado de ansiedade médios e altos. Conclusão: O leite materno deve ser a principal fonte de nutrição dos neonatos, principalmente dos prematuros. Em consonância, o Método Canguru se apresenta como um recurso assistencial aos neonatos prematuros ou de baixo peso ao nascer, sendo importante para a sua recuperação física e ponderal. Mães com traço de ansiedade baixa e dentro do Método Canguru apresentaram maior concentração proteica em relação aos demais traços e locais de internação (que apresentaram outras particularidades, mas sem valor de significância). Não descartando, no entanto, o benefício do aleitamento materno em outras condições psicológicas. Dessa forma, como já foi declarado uma boa prática, o Método Canguru pode ser implementado sem prejuízo para os neonatos, estimulando, assim, que o leite materno seja oferecido sob livre demanda.
