Estudio descriptivo de la prostatectomía radical en pacientes diagnosticados con cáncer de próstata en institutos de seguridad social de Guatemala, en el período 2011 – 2015. Los pacientes fueron seleccionados con revisión sistemática de informes anatomopatológicos e informes electrónicos y reporte clínico de cada caso. Durante el tiempo del estudio documentamos 34 procedimientos. Hubo una complicación temprana, shock hipovolémico, complicaciones tardías reportaron estenosis uretral 45%, disfunción eréctil 23% e incontinencia urinaria 20%. El reporte casuístico mostrado en estos casos donde es de suma importancia concluir que este procedimiento está disminuyendo, debido a múltiples factores institucionales.
Se presenta el caso de paciente de sexo femenino, 41 años de edad, diabética con diagnóstico de masa renal izquierda. Paciente con antecedente de tratamiento hospitalario por infección del tracto urinario. Se documenta tomográficamente masa renal izquierda, indicación por la que fue llevada a sala de operaciones, donde se evidencia componente tumoral que se exterioriza del espacio retroperitoneal hacia transcavidad de los epiplones. Se realiza nefrectomía radical más pancreatectomía distal. Estudios anatomopatológicos posteriores informan pielonefritis xantogranulomatosa crónica del 90% del parénquima renal y carcinoma pancreático ductal in situ, asociado a pancreatitis crónica e inflamación crónica xantogranulomatosa.
