Introdução: A hanseníase é um problema de saúde pública, que quando não diagnosticada precocemente e tratada de forma adequada poderá evoluir e gerar incapacidades físicas aos seus portadores. Por conseguinte, o presente estudo tem como sua questão norteadora: “Quais são os fatores que dificultam o diagnóstico precoce da Hanseníase?”. Objetivo: Compreender, partindo da análise de trabalhos nacionais, quais são os fatores que entardecem o diagnóstico da Hanseníase no Brasil. Método: Trata-se de uma Revisão Integrativa, através da qual foram revisados artigos de estudos indexados nas bases de dados SCIELO e LILACS. Para tanto, foram utilizados os seguintes descritores: Hanseníase; Diagnóstico tardio; Diagnóstico e Dificuldade. Resultados e Discussão: Por meio da revisão de 6 artigos, publicados entre 2007 e 2019, foi possível concluir que a falha no diagnóstico precoce da hanseníase perpassa por fatores que vão desde a falta de treinamento das equipes de atenção primária, até questões habitacionais, sociais e de gênero. Conclusão: O diagnóstico tardio da hanseníase tem relação direta com o grau de incapacidade física gerado pela doença. Sendo assim, a ponderação frente aos fatores causais de tal atraso permite o aprimoramento e a correção de processos e estratégias utilizadas para interromper tanto a evolução da doença quanto a sua cadeia de transmissão.
