LA resulted not inferior to RFA in inducing the CTA of HCC nodules and therefore it should be considered as an evaluable alternative for thermal ablation of small HCC in cirrhotic patients.
Sorafenib was as safe as effective in DIAB and in nDIAB patients. The longer TTP observed among DIAB than in nDIAB patients might suggest a better anticancer effect of sorafenib in patients with diabetes.
In hepatocellular carcinoma patients, on-treatment variables are the best predictors of survival. Among these, sorafenib off-target effects may be the most useful indicators for prognostication in field practice.
