ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian level konsentrat sebagai pakan suplemen terhadap kualitas fisik daging kambing yang meliputi susut masak, daya ikat air, keempukan dan pH. Penelitian ini menggunakan daging bagian otot Longisimus dorsi dan Bisef femoris dari 12 ekor kambing Kacang jantan muda berumur 6-8 bulan dengan berat badan awal 11,82 ± 1,29 kg (koefisien variasi 10,92%). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak lengkap 3 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan yaitu R1 = rumput lapangan ad libitum + konsentrat 0,5% BB, R2 = rumput lapangan ad libitum + konsentrat 0,75% BB , R3 = rumput lapangan ad libitum + konsentrat 1% BB. Hasil analisis statistik menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata (p>0,05) terhadap susut masak, daya ikat air, keempukan dan pH. Pemberian konsentrat sebagai suplemen dengan level 0,5%; 0,75% dan 1% menghasilkan kualitas fisik daging (susut masak, daya ikat air, keempukan dan pH) yang relatif sama pada otot Longissimus dorsi dan Biceps femoris dari kambing Kacang jantan muda.Kata kunci: Kambing kacang jantan, konsentrat, sifat fisik daging.ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the effect of level concentrate as a feed supplement on the physical quality of meat of Kacang male goat including cooking loss, water holding capacity, tenderness and pH. This research used meats the muscle section of Longissimus dorsi and Bicep femoris from 12 heads of young male Kacang goat aged 6-8 months with the initial body weight 11,89 ± 1,29 kg (variation coefficient 10,92%). The research method used completely randomized design with three treatments and four replicates, i.e.: R1 = native grass ad libitum + concentrates 0,5% BW, R2 = native grass ad libitum + concentrates 0,75% BW, R3 = native grass ad libitum + concentrates 1% BW. Statistical analysis showed that the treatment effect insignificant (p> 0.05) against cooking loss, water holding capacity, tenderness and pH. Giving of concentrate as a supplement to the level of 0,5%; 0,75% and 1% resulted in the physical quality of the meat (cooking loss, water holding capacity, tenderness and pH) were relatively similar to the muscle Longissimus dorsi and Biceps femoris of young male Kacang goats.Keywords: Male Kacang goat, concentrate, the physical quality of meat.
Limbah pertanian merupakan salah satu sumberdaya yang dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber pakan seperti dedak dari tanaman sorgum. Riset ini dilakukan guna mengetahui pengaruh pemanfaatan dedak sorgum dalam konsentrat terhadap kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK), kecernaan bahan organik (KcBO), dan konsentrasi metana (CH4) secara in vitro. Riset ini memakai Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 4 perlakuan serta 4 ulangan. Perlakuannya meliputi S0: konsentrat tanpa dedak sorgum, S1: konsentrat yang mengandung 25% dedak sorgum pengganti jagung, S2: konsentrat yang mengandung 50% dedak sorgum pengganti jagung, serta S3: konsentrat yang mengandung 75% dedak sorgum pengganti jagung. Nilai rerata dari kecernaan bahan kering adalah 71,29-77,71%, kecernaan bahan organik 70,61-76,61%, konsentrasi CH4 adalah 51735,81-61415,63 ml/L. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perlakuan berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kecernaan bahan kering dan kecernaan bahan organik, serta berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsentrasi CH4. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan level dedak sorgum sampai 75% selaku pengganti jagung dalam konsentrat bisa menambah kecernaan bahan kering serta kecernaan bahan organik, tetapi konsentrasi metana yang dihasilkan relatif sama. Agricultural waste is one of the resources that can be used as a source of feed such as bran from sorghum plants. This research was conducted to determine the effect of using sorghum bran in concentrate on dry matter digestibility (KcBK), organic matter digestibility (KcBO), and methane (CH4) concentration in vitro. This research used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments included S0: concentrate without sorghum bran, S1: concentrate containing 25% sorghum bran substitute for corn, S2: concentrate containing 50% sorghum bran substitute for corn, and S3: concentrate containing 75% sorghum bran substitute for corn. The mean value of dry matter digestibility was 71.29-77.71%, organic matter digestibility was 70.61-76.61%, CH4 concentration was 51735.81-61415.63 ml/L. The results showed that the treatment had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility, and an insignificant effect (P>0.05) on CH4 concentration. It can be concluded that the use of sorghum bran levels up to 75% as a substitute for corn in concentrate can increase dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility, but the concentration of methane produced is relatively the same.
Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan kombinasi ekstrak serat buah lontar dan ekskreta ayam terhadap pemanfaatan serat pada ternak kambing yang mengkonsumsi rumput Bothriochloa pertusa. Ternak yang digunakan adalah kambing kacang jantan sebanyak 4 ekor yang berumur 6-8 bulan dengan berat badan awal rata-rata 12,2kg (KV=17%). Metode yang digunakan adalah percobaan dengan Rancangan Bujur Sangkar Latin (RSBL) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 4 ulangan yang terdiri dari BP = hay rumput Bothrichloa pertusa 40% + lamtoro 30% + konsentrat 30%, BPS = hay rumput Bothrichloa pertusa 40% + lamtoro 30% + konsentrat 20% + ekstrak buah lontar 10%, BPFA = hay rumput Bothrichloa pertusa 40% + lamtoro 30% + konsentrat 20% + ekskreta ayam 10%, dan BPSFA = hay rumput Bothrichloa pertusa 40% + lamtoro 30% + konsentrat 20% + ekstrak buah lontar 5% + ekskreta ayam 5%. Parameter yang diukur terdiri dari konsumsi dan kecernaan serat kasar, konsentrasi VFA(volatile fatty acid) rumen, dan glukosa darah. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penggunaan kombinasi ekstrak buah lontar dan ekskreta ayam tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan serat kasar, kadar glukosa darah, namun cenderung meningkat (P=0,08) konsentrasi VFA rumen. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan kombinasi ekstrak buah lontar dan ekskreta ayam tidak mempengaruhi konsumsi dan kecernaan serat kasar, kadar glukosa darah tetapi cenderung meningkatkan konsentrasi VFA pada ternak kambing yang mengkonsumsi rumput Bothriochloa pertusa. This study aims to determine the effect of using a combination of lontar fruit extract and chicken excreta on fiber utilization in goats that intake Bothriochloa pertusa grass. The livestock used were 4 male peanut goats aged 6-8 months with an average initial body weight of 12.2 kg (KV=17%). The experiment with design with Latin Square Design with 4 treatments and 4 treatments which consisted of BP = Bothrichloa pertusa grass hay 40% + lamtoro 30% + concentrate 30%, BPS = Bothrichloa pertusa grass hay 40% + lamtoro 30% + 20% concentrate + palm fruit extract 10%, BPFA = Bothrichloa pertusa grass hay 40% + lamtoro 30% + 20% concentrate + chicken excreta 10%, and BPSFA = Bothrichloa pertusa grass hay 40% + lamtoro 30% + 20% concentrate + lontar fruit extract 5% + chicken excreta 5%. The parameters observed were crude fiber intake and digestibility, intake of digestible crude fiber, VFA concentration rumen(volatile fatty acid) and blood glucose levels. Results showed that combined of lontar fruit extract and chicken excreta had no real effect (P>0.05) on crude fiber intake and digestibility, blood glucose consentration. But it tends to increase (P=0.05) at concentration of VFA rumen. It was concluded that the combination of lontar fruit extract and chicken excreta have no increase the of crude fiber intake and digestibility, blood glucose consentration but tends to increase at VFA concentration in goats that intake Bothriochloa pertusa grass.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of giving Moringa leaf flour and “katuk” leafs and their combination on the performance of broiler chickens. The study used 96 DOC broiler chickens and Completely Randomized Design [CRD] with 4 treatments and 6 replications; each unit consists of 4 chickens. The treatments consisted of: R0: Basal ration [control], R1: Basal ration + 10% Moringa leaf meal, R2: Basal ration + 10% katuk leaf meal and R3: Basal ration + a combination of 5% Moringa and katuk leaf meal. The variables measured included feed intake, body weight gain and feed conversion ratio. The results of the analysis of variance showed that the treatment had a very significant effect [P<0.01] on all measured variables. It was concluded that the administration of 10% Moringa leaf meal, 10% katuk leaf meal and a combination of 5% of these two herbal meal decreased the performance of broiler chickens and tend to increase income offer feed cost [IOFC].
