Introdução: O cigarro eletrônico (CE) surgiu como uma forma de reposição de nicotina, em que os dados sobre a sua eficácia e segurança são precários, sendo necessário maior estudo sobre o tema. Objetivo: Objetivou-se a avaliação acerca da potencialidade dos cigarros eletrônicos na saúde e sua utilização na cessação tabágica, dos efeitos nocivos causados pelos CE's para tabagistas e não tabagistas que começaram a usar o aparelho, da perpetuação do vício à nicotina e a segurança do uso de CE seja para cessar o consumo de tabaco ou para uso recreativo. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa de literatura, realizada na base de dados "SciELO", "MEDLINE" e "LILACS", no período de 2014 a 2019, com 11 artigos os quais abordavam o cigarro eletrônico como tema principal. Resultado: Não há comprovação científica para o uso de CEs como substituto ou auxiliar na cessação do consumo do tabaco e os estudos demonstram que o uso de CE está associado de modo independente ao início do tabagismo tradicional durante o ano seguinte ou durante a transição para a vida adulta, quando a compra de produtos de tabaco se torna legal. As substâncias constituintes do produto ainda não são todas conhecidas, assim como seus malefícios. Conclusão: Os cigarros eletrônicos têm um potencial de danos com o seu consumo bem maior do que o inicialmente pensado e, em termos de cessação do tabagismo, tem ocorrido a troca (parcial ou total) do cigarro convencional pelo eletrônico, porém, o fumante continua a sofrer os efeitos maléficos do consumo de nicotina e outros compostos tóxicos dos CEs.Palavras-chave: Cigarros eletrônicos; cessação do tabagismo; sistema de liberação de nicotina; tabagismo.
Ana Claudia do Nascimento Coutinho RESUMOIntrodução: Neste trabalho iremos abordar um relato de caso de Hemangioma Hepático Gigante. Será possível compreender que nessa patologia, em cerca de 80% dos casos, é um achado acidental, sendo predominantemente assintomático, estável e adequadamente acompanhado sob vigilância clínica e com exames de imagem.Em contrapartida, os hemangiomas maiores que 4cm são definidos como gigantes, sendo mais frequentemente associados a sintomatologia, e considerados indicações para o tratamento cirúrgico, somando ainda, a realidade de doentes cujo risco cirúrgico é aceitável e quando houver incerteza diagnóstica. O relato de caso, contou com a participação do paciente x, y anos... Em que foi possível desvendar o diagnóstico de Hemangioma Hepático Gigante, correlacionando a clínica do paciente, com imagens de USG compatíveis e confirmadas pela RMN, assim como o tratamento z e o acompanhamento devido da patologia, em relação a sua manifestação na vida do paciente. Vale ressaltar que o médico deve sempre pensar na hipótese de hemangioma hepático gigante em casos de massa palpável, devendo-se prosseguir na investigação com exame de imagem.
