It intends to analyze the historically subordinated position of Humanities, discussing in favor of a distinction between them and the Sciences due to irreconcilable specificities aiming, ultimately, to fight the asymmetries. Among the distinguishing criteria, it intends to discuss the types of text production in its implications for the assessment of intellectual production. The "method" will also be discussed as a hegemonic procedure of the scientific research that, in the Studies of Humanities, reveals itself, in broad terms, as inapplicable, and can and must, as proposed in this study, give way to the idea of "poetics of investigation". Keywords:Humanities. Sciences. Writing. Method. Poetics of Investigation. AbstractThe text examines the urban explosion observed in the nineteenth century, amid the emergent capitalism and its degenerescence, to reach the hegemonic project of modern urbanism intended to be definitive solution for the societies, legislating all the spaces, regulating all forms of occupation and disciplining the bodies and souls of city dwellers. Thus, it addresses some impasses posed by the model of modern city in Brazil and its configurations in the globalized world.
Palavras-chave: Consumo; made in China; subalterno; quinquilharia. ABSTRACT The global phenomenon of consumption of objects called here “made in China” − consumption of low price, low quality and reduced utility −, which compose a certain contemporary kitsch universe, is the focus of this text. The objective is to approach it from the viewpoint of consumption practices departing from the most recent theoretical frameworks, sinceMary Douglas until García Canclini, in order to analyze these objects the way we do with other goods but that are organized like subaltern circuits of consumption. Keywords: Consumption; “made in China”; subaltern; knick-knack.
