West Papua, Indonesia, are engaged in marketing activity in informal agricultural sector. However, the nature of their entrepreneurial activity and the factors that impede and enable these endeavors are not clearly understood. The aim of this research is to gain a better understanding of the entrepreneurial marketing activity of these women along with constraints that impede them to identify opportunities for improving their position. A theoretical framework, based on indigenous entrepreneurship literature and knowledge of Papuan context, was designed to guide the research. A qualitative approach was used to investigate three case studies of groups of women in three different areas – a more remote area, a transmigration site, and an urban area. Within-case and cross-case analysis revealed that those Papuan women’s motivation was driven by their immediate family’s needs and their social and cultural obligations. The analysis also indicated that they were proven to be open to innovation. Further, they were outward looking and had market awareness. There was variation between the groups in their engagement with cash economy and the expression of their market awareness. Their implementation of marketing techniques varied, with urban traders employing a wider range of marketing strategies. Women traders from more remote areas and transmigration site depended heavily on their natural resources, whereas the majority of urban traders were more dependent on marketing resources and financial reserves in order to buy produce from other producers. Hence, more remote area and transmigration site traders were self-funded, while urban traders were partly selffunded. Traders from more remote area relied very heavily upon social capital in conducting their production and marketing activities, whereas traders in the other groups were less reliant on social capital. Traders from more remote area faced greater constraints related to poor road access, high cost transportation, and poor access to physical markets. In addition, all traders had poor access to government support. These insights into the varied nature of indigenous entrepreneurship and the differences in constraints faced by different groups provide policy insights for Papuan government.
This study aims to determine community’s perceptions of waste management, determine the value of Willingness to Pay (WTP) and analyze the household characteristics (X), which as the perception of waste management (X1), income (X2), family number (X3) and education level (X4). These factors are expected to affect the amount of the WTP value. The study was conducted in the District of Manokwari Barat approximately two months (May to June 2016). Total of 60 respondents distributed in 6 villages. Most of the respondents said (55%) that the dustman activities done quite well. However, the placement of the container is limited only in the activity center. The majority respondents (61.67%) only use plastic bags for garbage container. The cost of taking out the trash is Rp. 5000 s / d Rp. 20,000, and the weekly cost they spend Rp. 10.000 s / d Rp. 60,000. The majority respondents (80%) stated that the garbage collecting process has done fairly well, the dustman collecting garbage every day with limited fleet and funds. The majority of respondents (56.67%) said the process of garbage removal and transport has done fairly well, well (21.67%), and unfavorable (21.67%). The majority respondents (61.67%) said that the implementation of the landfill were done well, rubbish was dumped without any treatment. This research result that the WTP group of Rp. 50,000 / month was 60%, the Group of WTP Rp. 75,000 / month was 6.67%, and Group WTP Rp. 100,000 / month was 33.33%. The F-test was resulted that Fcount at 14.478 higher than Ftable at 2.54, this mean that all variables simultaneously throughout the study variables significantly influence the public decision give WTP values (Y). Similar results were on the t-test results, partially any study variables significantly influence the decision of the community provides WTP values (Y). The tcount was X1 (-2.897), X2 (2.605), X3 (-2.260), and X4 (2.646) higher than ttable at 1.673.

fisheries in Fakfak Regency. This study used a survey method with direct interview techniques for respondents consisting of fishermen, collectors, retailers, wholesalers and processed fisheries traders. This is because large traders sell fish in very large quantities with the aim of selling outside the city of Fakfak. A very large cost is proportional to the income received by large traders. However, the lowest income is obtained by retail traders. Fishermen who have higher income from retailers and collectors are also associated with production costs that are not too large when compared to the purchase costs incurred by traders. The average production cost incurred by fishermen is Rp 2,392,272 which consists of fuel costs, storage costs and consumption costs.
