Este artigo se propõe a cartografar a ideia de (não-) pertencimento de personagens negros retratados no livro de contos Olhos d’água (2014), da escritora mineira Conceição Evaristo. Em nossas análises, privilegiaremos três contos da obra, “Duzu-Querença”, “O cooper de Cida” e “Ei, Ardoca”, nos quais se descortinam os matizes da obra, tais como o racismo, o silenciamento, o sofrimento, as dores, o anonimato, a violência e o suicídio. Intenciona-se fomentar o debate a respeito de como os caminhos são negados (ou, ao menos, dificultados) para sujeitos negros no seio da sociedade e, por outro lado, busca-se ressaltar o viés literário como espaço de visibilidade para seres anônimos reiteradamente cantonados. De maneira mais detalhada, pretende-se observar aspectos da tessitura textual de Conceição Evaristo, notadamente no que diz respeito à constituição das vozes narrativas. Para isso, adotamos a perspectiva decolonial (Almeida, Césaire, Kilomba, Salgueiro), ressaltamos as reflexões em torno do feminismo negro (Akotirene, Kilomba, Ribeiro), da necropolítica (Mbembe), da presença dos negros na literatura feminina contemporânea (Dalcastagnè), além de percorrer obras literárias e entrevistas de Evaristo, além de críticas teóricas sobre sua obra.
