Esta pesquisa foi desenvolvida nos ambientes de trabalho de marcenarias localizadas no município de Viçosa, Minas Gerais, para realizar o levantamento do perfil dos trabalhadores e das condições de trabalho relacionadas às atividades exercidas em marcenarias, visando a melhoria da saúde, do bem-estar, da segurança, do conforto e da produtividade dos trabalhadores. O levantamento do perfil dos trabalhadores e das condições de trabalho foi realizado por intermédio da aplicação de questionários aos trabalhadores das marcenarias avaliadas e das observações e anotações realizadas durante a coleta dos dados. Pelos resultados obtidos, foram constatados diversos problemas relacionados aos marceneiros, como, por exemplo, cansaço, dores nas pernas e na coluna, alergia devido à utilização de produtos químicos e ao pó da madeira, falta de treinamento para exercer a profissão e praticamente nenhuma noção sobre segurança e higiene no trabalho. A incidência de acidentes relatados foi baixa; as mãos foram as partes mais afetadas por cortes leves, não tendo sido relatado nenhum tipo de acidente grave. Pôde-se constatar também que há necessidade de conscientizar os proprietários das marcenarias sobre a importância e os benefícios da segurança e higiene no trabalho para os seus funcionários.
A qualidade das operações foi avaliada em cinco subsistemas de colheita, adotados por empresas florestais brasileiras que utilizam madeira para produção de celulose de fibras curtas e painéis. O sistema empregado pelas empresas foi o de toras curtas, e os subsistemas avaliados foram: 1) ";harvester"; + ";forwarder";, 2) ";slingshot"; + ";forwarder";, 3) motosserra + manual, 4) motosserra + ";forwarder"; e 5) motosserra + guincho. Os itens avaliados foram os seguintes: altura de cepas e da faixa de fratura; cepas danificadas, com espeto, cobertas pela galhada e rachadas; e comprimento de toras e toras com gancho. Nenhum dos subsistemas avaliados atendeu a todas as especificações de qualidade dos itens avaliados, podendo-se inferir que a qualidade das operações precisa ser melhorada em todos eles. Não ficou evidenciado que um subsistema seja melhor que o outro, pois em alguns itens um subsistema foi melhor, mas em outro já se apresentou pior. Independentemente do subsistema utilizado, o estabelecimento de controles é fundamental para identificação e solução de problemas que afetam a qualidade das operações que compõem a colheita florestal.
O presente estudo teve como objetivo central avaliar técnica e economicamente atividades de extração em área montanhosa, utilizando um trator florestal arrastador com esteiras (Track-Skidder). O estudo foi conduzido em povoamentos de eucalipto de uma empresa florestal do Estado de Minas Gerais, nos quais o sistema de colheita foi o de árvore inteira, sendo o sistema mecanizado utilizado nas suas atividades de corte, extração e traçamento. A avaliação técnica consistiu em detectar e dimensionar os fatores de interrupções operacionais e mecânicas, como também em determinar os índices de produtividade, eficiência operacional, disponibilidade mecânica e grau de utilização. A avaliação econômica consistiu na determinação dos custos operacionais, bem como em determinar a distribuição destes custos. As áreas de estudo foram estratificadas em três níveis de declividades e três níveis de distâncias de extração. De acordo com o estudo os estratos de menor declividade e distância de extração apresentaram melhor produtividade em relação aos estratos de maior declividade e distância de extração. Ao final do período de avaliação a máquina atingiu disponibilidade mecânica de 79% e eficiência operacional de 76%. Seu custo operacional foi de US$57,00 por hora efetiva, sendo a depreciação e os juros os maiores elementos deste custo.
A presente pesquisa foi realizada em uma área de implantação de um povoamento florestal de eucalipto da Fazenda Água Limpa, da Universidade de Brasília, com o objetivo de avaliar os custos de produção e os tempos gastos nas etapas de produção de mudas, preparo do solo, plantio e tratos culturais. Todos os custos de produção das diversas etapas foram analisados, sendo os tempos cronometrados com o uso do método de tempos individuais. De acordo com os resultados, o custo médio para a implantação de 1 ha de eucalipto foi de R$ 703,02. Os maiores custos foram os da aquisição das bandejas e tubetes (28,3%), combate a formigas (16,7%), preparo do solo (14,1%) e mão-de-obra (11,1%). Os maiores tempos consumidos foram durante a capina do povoamento (27,0%), o plantio (22,0%), os tratos culturais no viveiro (19,0%) e a adubação (13,0%).
Nesta pesquisa, desenvolvida a partir de dados coletados em viveiro florestal no Vale do Rio Doce, MG, objetivou-se estudar os fatores ergonômicos relacionados às atividades exercidas nesses ambientes, visando à melhoria da saúde, do bem-estar, da segurança, do conforto e da produtividade dos trabalhadores. O objetivo específico foi a caracterização do ambiente de trabalho em relação ao conforto térmico, luminosidade e ruído. Os dados foram coletados através de medições do clima do local de trabalho, da luminosidade e do ruído. Os resultados indicaram que o ambiente de trabalho apresentou valores do Índice de Bulbo Úmido Termômetro de Globo, nas casas-de-vegetação, acima dos limites. A luminosidade encontrada foi considerada insuficiente nos postos de trabalho das atividades de estaqueamento e corte de macroestacas. Os níveis de ruído encontrados foram elevados nas atividades de lavagem e desinfecção de tubetes.
