Os pombos urbanos pertencentes ao gênero Columba da espécie livia, são indivíduos encontrados atualmente em grandes centros urbanos, o que gera preocupação devido a diversos fatores relacionados ao contato do ser humano com essas espécies. Deste modo, surgiu a necessidade de estudo voltado para comunidades com relação ao contato com essas espécies. Dessa forma, objetivo da pesquisa foi analisar os possíveis impactos socioambientais em relação aos pombos urbanos, levando em consideração a percepção dos moradores da cidade de Marcos Parente. O trabalho foi desenvolvido na Zona Urbana de referido, levando em consideração a metodologia qualitativa e quantitativa baseada em entrevistas para análise da percepção dos moradores em relação aos pombos urbanos. Uma visita foi realizada na Secretaria Municipal de Saúde, onde se verificou que não existem problemas causados por pombos urbanos em todo o território municipal. Foi possível perceber há necessidade de propostas de trabalhos voltados ao conhecimento dessas aves na cidade, tendo em vista sua quantidade e o grande contado dos moradores com essas espécies. Outro problema diz respeito à falta de conhecimento das pessoas sobre essas aves, evidenciado assim no contato diário sem nenhuma forma de proteção. Assim, o trabalho apresentou grande relevância, devido a falta de conhecimento das pessoas em relação aos pombos urbanos e as doenças que podem causar aos seres humanos
