Evolution of the value of natural rubber production and the factors responsible for its change in the Bahia State. This study aimed to analyze the behavior of the value of natural rubber production in the Bahia State and the effects that influence the formation of this value. In this study, a modified version of the shift-share model, also known as "gap-structural" was used to decompose the value of production in the effects area, yield and price. The analyzed data are of secondary origin. The results indicated that the area and yield effects contributed positively in the increase of the production value, while the price participated negatively. Still, there is a price recovery in the last period analyzed, which, if sustained, could give new dynamic to the evolution of the production value and contribute to the strengthening of regional rubber cultivation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
