Resumen: El duelo es un proceso normal ante la pérdida de una persona significativa. Debido a diversos factores los síntomas implicados en el proceso pueden intensificarse y perdurar de tal manera que interfieren significativamente en la vida de los dolientes, generando así un duelo complicado. El objetivo del estudio fue evaluar una intervención cognitivo-conductual dirigido a mejorar el afrontamiento emocional y la disminución de síntomas depresivos y ansiosos de una paciente de 32 años con trastorno de duelo complejo persistente. Para esto, se utilizó un diseño de caso de caso único, que incluyó un programa de intervención adaptado a 16 sesiones. Se aplicaron escalas estandarizadas antes y después del tratamiento. Los resultados indicaron una disminución de la sintomatología depresiva y ansiosa, un aumento del afrontamiento emocional y una disminución de conductas de evitación asociadas con la muerte y en el malestar reactivo a la muerte.
