Ao longo do tempo e especialmente nos últimos cinqüenta anos, a Mata Atlântica brasileira apresentou grandes taxas de desmatamento e altos níveis de fragmentação por conta do desenvolvimento urbano e expansão agropecuária. O presente trabalho realizou uma análise da paisagem do corredor verde sul-americano, (Brasil, Paraguai e Argentina) tomando como objeto central de estudo a Mata Atlântica de interior, que possui importantes parcelas de florestas estacionais preservadas e presença de espécies ameaçadas de extinção, visando identificar conectividades da paisagem. O método de análise consistiu em rotinas de classificação de imagens de satélite do sensor LANDSAT 7 ETM (anos de 2003 e 2004) em softwares de geoprocessamento. Os resultados do estudo apontam para o isolamento das unidades de conservação, a falta de conectividade com outros fragmentos originais dos biomas brasileiros e o agravamento desse processo de fragmentação por conta da construção de barramentos de grande porte, comprometendo a efetividade das áreas remanescentes na conservação da biodiversidade.
