As redes móveis de atual e próxima geração (5G e 6G) totalmente virtualizadas e baseadas em soluções de software e hardware abertas demandam um plano de controle flexível e programável capaz de lidar com tecnologias de diferentes domínios tecnológicos. Nesse contexto, este trabalho investiga a utilização do paradigma de Redes Definidas por Software (SDN) para orquestrar os domínios tecnológicos de redes de dados, com Plano de Dados de Pacotes Programável (PPDP), Redes Ópticas Passivas Definidas por Software (SD-PON) e redes de Multiplexação por Divisão de Comprimento Onda (WDM). Para isso, foi criado um ambiente SDN, utilizando o controlador ONOS para gerenciar os dispositivos do plano de dados de diferentes domínios tecnológicos. Como resultado, a pesquisa comprovou a viabilidade da utilização da tecnologia SDN na orquestração de dispositivos multidomínio.
O presente artigo descreve a implementação feita para emular uma rede FTTx (Fiber to the “X”), composta por OLT (Open Line Terminal) e ONU (Optical Network Unit), com simulações para o plano de controle e considerações sobre um plano de dados desenvolvido com OVS (OpenVSwitch) adicional ao plano de controle.
O presente artigo descreve o testbed usado no projeto OpenRAN@Brasil para verificar a atuação do VOLTHA (Virtual Optical Line Termination Hardware Abstraction) ao controlar SD-PON (Redes Ópticas Passivas Definidas por Software). São descritos os componentes que irão compor o ambiente experimental, bem como a topologia de cada um dos sites no Centro de Pesquisa e Desenvolvimento em Telecomunicações (CPQD) e Rede Nacional de Ensino e Pesquisa (RNP), organizações que estão desenvolvendo o projeto em parceria. São apresentadas também vantagens e desvantagens relacionadas ao emprego do testbed, e a implementação feita para emular uma rede FTTx (Fiber to the “x”), composta por OLT (Open Line Terminal) e ONU (Optical Network Unit), com simulações para o plano de controle e considerações sobre um plano de dados desenvolvido com OVS (OpenVSwitch) complementar ao plano de controle. Através desse ambiente emulado, foi possível realizar um deployment e testes com características similares às que serão implementadas no testbed definitivo.
O presente artigo descreve o testbed que tem sido construído dentro do projeto OpenRAN@Brasil visando os desafios de uma arquitetura com orquestração multidomínio. São descritos diversos componentes que irão compor o testbed e a topologia dos sites no CPqD e na RNP. Além disso, foi apresentada uma comparação entre as diversas soluções de orquestração de código aberto disponíveis na comunidade como Aether, Nephio e EMCO. Finalmente, são apresentados os resultados preliminares da proposta de orquestração multidomínio através de um ambiente virtual pré-testbed.
Fatiamento de Rede e Nuvem (Cloud Network Slicing - CNS) é o processo capaz de isolar fim-a-fim e sob-demanda recursos de nuvem e rede controlados, gerenciados e/ou orquestrados independentemente, os quais são denominados de fatias. Nesse contexto, pode-se considerar dispositivos com baixo poder computacional, como os dispositivos móveis, para prover recursos para as fatias, e assim deixando os serviços ainda mais próximos dos usuários finais. Contudo, as plataformas que fornecem Fatia como um Serviço (Slice as a Service - SlaaS) não alocam dispositivos móveis como parte da fatia. Nesse sentido, este trabalho apresenta uma plataforma de SlaaS que aloca dispositivos móveis como parte da fatia. Para isso, utiliza-se a virtualização leve ao invés da virtualização completa para fazer a instanciação da fatia. Os resultados mostram ser possível alocar dispositivos móveis como parte da fatia. Os resultados obtidos mostram que a solução é promissora por conta do desempenho melhor na virtualização leve em comparação com a virtualização total.
