RESUMONas últimas décadas, a inclusão de assuntos referidos à exclusão, inequidade e desigualdade, entre outros fatores, têm conduzido a muitos países ao desenvolvimento de pesquisas que sejam capazes de incluir o desenho antropométrico na configuração dos espaços habitáveis. Nestas pesquisas, as dimensões antropométricas têm sido consideradas com o intuito de garantir a seguridade e conforto dos usuários. Este artigo apresenta o processo de projeto arquitetônico considerando uma análise antropométrica da população colombiana e considerando as interações do corpo com o ambiente construído e os objetos que nele se encontram. Os resultados desse processo são evidenciados na assessoria realizada ao equipamento UVA-Orfelinato, localizado na cidade de Medellín, Colômbia.

La Norma Técnica Colombiana (NTC) 4595 establece los lineamientos que deben seguir arquitectos e ingenieros en el diseño de ambientes escolares. Este artículo analiza los lineamientos indicados en el ítem 7.2 de la Norma, referido al tema de la comodidad visual. La metodología compara salones de clase hipotéticos, siguiendo las directrices indicadas en el numeral 7.2, y salones construidos y en funcionamiento de algunas instituciones ubicadas en la ciudad de Medellín, Colombia. Los resultados evidencian la necesidad de ajustar y hacer más precisos los parámetros establecidos en la NTC 4595, a fin de minimizar posibles imprecisiones en su interpretación.
