Objetivo: O presente estudo tem o objetivo de revisar a literatura acerca das alterações neurológicas neonatais ocasionadas pelo uso de crack e cocaína durante a gestação. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, de abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa. Baseado em artigos indexados nas bases Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde, as fontes de dados Literatura Latino-Americana e do Caribe em Ciências da Saúde, Scientific Eletronic Library onLine e PUBmed. Resultados: No levantamento bibliográfico foram encontrados 11 artigos no LILACS, 14 na BVS e 81 na SCIELO, após aplicados os critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram selecionados 18 que contribuiu de forma direta para a construção do presente estudo. Conclusão: Conclui-se que os efeitos negativos do uso de drogas psicotrópicas, durante a gestação, refletem a ausência de acompanhamento pré-natal, bem como a falta de apoio e incentivo para o abandono do vício, visto que pessoas que fazem uso crônico dessas drogas sofrem com síndromes de abstinência ocasionada pela falta das substâncias no organismo desses indivíduos. Outras complicações relacionadas são: aborto, descolamento prematuro de placenta, trabalho de parto prematuro, ruptura uterina, disritmias cardíacas, ruptura hepática, isquemia cerebral, infarto e morte.
