In contributing to reducing the adverse effects of non-renewable energy sources, this paper researched how human capital can enhance the penetration level of renewable energy, which is highly abundant in Nigeria, Sub-Saharan Africa. This paper, using qualitative research methodology through Bibliometric analysis, reviewed three hundred and three (303) papers published between the year 2000 and March 2022. The bibliometric study covered publications per author, publications per country, research focus based on co-occurrence keywords, and research thread. The findings revealed that publications on how human capital can aid renewable energy penetration have been slow and in an infant stage in the past two decades. It also shows that there have been eighteen (18) papers on the subject papers in the last twenty years, showing the low level of human capital development in the energy sector. The intellectual patterns via the co-occurrence of keywords shows five (5) clusters, which are economics of renewable energy sources, human capital factors in environmental management, economic factors in energy supply and demand, sustainable energy factors, and human capital development and economy. These cluster areas revealed how human capital could be developed to increase the penetration level of the abundant renewable energy in the world. Thus, this paper recommends intensive efforts in optimizing human capital through inter-organizational collaboration on renewable energy technologies and periodic training.
Aims: The Police force stabilizes public institutions for societal tranquillity, economic development, peaceful coexistence and is an integral pillar in securing human development, which unfortunately operates as a mirage in Nigeria. Therefore, this study seeks to provide appropriate recommendations for structural reform of the Nigeria Police force using the strategic human resource management (SHRM) approach to the identified challenges facing the Nigerian Police Force. Study Design: The study utilized a qualitative research design. Methodology: The study used a systematic literature review of qualitative research methodology through the thorough and critical content analysis of reports, journals, publications, and news. Results: The study findings revealed five significant challenges hindering police effectiveness in Nigeria and developed a 10 X 5 SHRM framework that included ten (10) strategic focus and five (5) strategies. Conclusion: The study concluded that the 10 X 5 strategic human resource management frameworks will provided the needed reforms and recommended the 1829 nine (9) policing principles and three (3) core ideas of Sir Robert Peel.
The interactions of water, energy, and food resources resulting in WEF nexus thinking have been conceptualized as an integrated framework to achieve the security of the three vital resources. However, there are some gaps in WEF nexus research, which constrains the understanding and actualization of the nexus. Hence, this review paper aims to assess theories, human resource management implications, and emerging technologies' effect in understanding the nexus for its actualization. The research employed a qualitative research methodology to achieve the research objectives. The research findings revealed six (6) significant theories that can aid the understanding and actualization of the WEF nexus. The research also revealed that human resource management is strategic, highlighting the need for nexus thinking among human resources. Furthermore, the study revealed the three major emerging technologies of Artificial Intelligence, Big data analytics, and Internet of Things (IoT), which are shaping the WEF nexus through innovations and shaping the nature of the nexus. The study concluded that there is an interaction between the theories and human resources management for attaining the WEF nexus, which affects the extent of the sustainability of the innovations introduced by the emerging technologies. The study recommended quantification of the theories, training on nexus thinking of the current human resource in the WEF sectors, and capital investment on emerging technologies in the WEF nexus.
The study focused on the role of Nigerian bankruptcy law in fostering female entrepreneurship. The study examined how the current bankruptcy law supports female entrepreneurship in Nigeria. This was motivated by the Nigerian government’s recent entrepreneurship drive to meet the country’s excessive challenge of unemployment and poverty. Five principles were utilised in this study to measure current Nigerian bankruptcy law to evaluate its effect on the female entrepreneurship drive in Nigeria. The study adopted a qualitative research methodology to evaluate legal doctrines and relevant literatures. The study’s findings revealed that the present Nigerian bankruptcy law is not entirely favourable to female entrepreneurship. This conclusion was arrived at having measured the Nigerian bankruptcy law against five testable principles. These principles were developed to help as a guide in measuring bankruptcy laws to determine whether they are entrepreneur-friendly. In light of this, recommendations were proffered to reform the current bankruptcy law to introduce better policies that enhance female entrepreneurship.
