Die Chloroformlosung hinterlafit, auf dem Wasserbade eingedunstet, einen braunec, pulvrigen Ruckstand, der in heifieni Wasser aufgenornmen und mit Tierkohle gekocht wird. Beim Erkalten der filtrierten Liisung setzt sich das N-Methyl-isoemetin-dijodmethylat amorph und harzig a n den M'anden des GefaBes ab. Zur Reinigung wird es noch z w e i d &US kocbendem Wasser, event. unter Tierkolle-Zusatz, umgeschieden, wobei der sich zuerst absetzende Anteil, der noch ein nenig gelb gefarbt war, abgetrennt wurde. Schliefilich wird die so gereinigte Verbindung in absolutem heisem Alkohol aufgenommen und diese Losung in diinnem Strati1 in absoluten ji ther gegossen. Dabei fHllt das N-Methyl-isoemetin-dijodmetbylat in weifien Flocken nus, die abgenutscht und mit .$her gewaschen wurden.Der Schmelzpuokt der Verbindung ist nicht scbarf, er iiegt etwa zwischen 185-195' {unkorr.).Alle Krystallisationsversuche blieben ergebnislos. R u s Alkohol setzt sich die Verbindung aniorph ab. Bus Wasser fiillt sie bei gewohnlicher Temperntur harzig, bei starkeni Abkuhlen flockig aus; doch schon beim Anwarmen auf gewohnliche Teniperatur ballen sich diese Flocken zu einer halbfesten, wachsahnlichen Masse zusammen. 0.1105 g Sbst. 1. Zur Darstellung des Dioxyds wurde die Fällung einer Natriumiridiumchloridl ösung mit Alkalien als geeignetste Methode erkannt und dafür aufgearbeitet. Die Methode von GEISENHEIMER, Dioxyd durch Iängeres Kochen von lridiumtrioxyd mit Chlorammonium herzustellen, envies sich nicht brauchbar.
