The vaporization enthalpies and vapor
pressures from T = 298.15 K to the boiling temperature
at p
o = 101 325 Pa of a number
of sesquiterpene hydrocarbons
in patchouli oil, β-patchoulene, cycloseychellene, α-guaiene,
seychellene, α-patchoulene, and α-bulnesene are reported
using a series of different hydrocarbon standards. β-Elemene
and E β-caryophyllene, two compounds studied
previously and also present in patchouli oil as minor components,
were used as both standards and targets. Their use as targets was
to evaluate the reproducibility of thermochemical properties evaluated
in complex mixtures by correlation gas chromatography. The results
are compared to available literature data, both estimated and experimental.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
