Palabras clave: agua; medio ambiente; degradación; contaminación; cadmio AbstractThis paper analyzes aspects relative to environmental degradation related to the activities of agricultural, livestock and domestic water users (anthropic factor), which may be contributing to the pollution of water by cadmium in the Pixquiac River microbasin. The research shows the importance of evaluating both the quality of water resources in natural bodies, as well as the possible anthropic causes that are contaminating them, to identify the risk for the population, and the relevance of developing strategies for the conservation of aquatic ecosystems. Keywords: Water; environment; degradation; pollution; cadmium
