Entisols is soil that newly formed and has diverse fertility, and potential for shallot cultivation.. The center of shallot production is mostly carried out in coastal areas which have a limiting factor high soil salinity. High salinity will cause nutrient uptake and plant growth disrupted. Soil amendments such as zeolite and gypsum potential option to overcome tha impact of high salinity. This study was completely randomized design (CRD) two factors, shallot cultivar (Brebes cultivar = V1, Purbalingga cultivar = V2, Pemalang cultivar = V3), and soil amendment (gypsum = G, zeolite = Z, without amendments= K. Each pot countaned of 15 kg of entisols and irrigated by 1 liter saline water of 2 mS / cm every day. Results shallot that amendment application can significantly improve pH, EC, SAR. Application of gypsum (25 Mg ha-1) and zeolite (15 Mg ha-1) showed the higher effect on purbalingga cultivars (V2). Interaction amendments and cultivars did not significantly affect on plant height and diameter of the bulbs. Gypsum 25 Mg ha-1 (G) significantly increased wet weight and fresh weight of bulb in purbalingga cultivars.
Salinity of soil and irrigation is a factor that may cause a decrease in shallot productivity, so it requires efforts with amendments. This research aimed to determine the effect of gypsum and zeolite amendments on soil and shallot growth with saline irrigation. A pot experiment was conducted in the field using a completely randomized design with three factors. The first factor was two soil types (Alfisol and Inceptisol); the second factor was three shallot cultivars (Brebes, Purbalingga, and Pemalang); and the third factor was two types of soil amendments. The results showed that gypsum and zeolite reduced pH, sodium adsorption ratio (SAR), electric conductivity paste (ECp) and Na of the soils studied. Gypsum and zeolite increased the uptake of N, P and K by shallot plants. The increase of N uptake by applying gypsum on Inceptisol was more effective to Brebes and Purbalingga cultivars than Pemalang cultivar. Gypsum increased the diameter and number of bulbs in Inceptisol. Zeolite and gypsum increased bulb weight of Purbalingga cultivar in Alfisol.
The study aimed to determine the diversity of ichtyofauna species has been done in the Tambatan’s River, North Labuhanbatu Regency. This research applied by purposive sampling method to decided sampling collection which based on the environmental conditions of Tambatan’s River. Fish samples were collected using cast nets and gillnets. The collected data were analyzed using the Shannon-Wiener diversity index, evenness index, dominance index, similarity index, and Pearson’s correlation analysis. The results found 20 fish species from 5 families on Tambatan’s River. The largest family of fish species found from Cyprinidae’s (12 species), Bagridae’s (5 species), and the lowest found from Siluroidae’s, Mastacembelidae’s, Gobidae’s family an each 1 species. The result of the diversity index indicated that the 3 stations were classified in the medium category with range of 0.53-1.87. The result of pearson’s correlation describe fish biodiversity has strong positive correlation value to current velocity (0.927) and water transparency (0.927).
