The sickle cell nephropathy is described as a homozygous sickle cell disease. However, there is no consensus as to the heterozygotes, thus other investigations are required to provide further information on this topic. This study aimed at determining the frequency of sickle cell trait in a population of chronic renal failure patients in the city of Niterói.
Objetivo: Descrever os saberes e práticas dos enfermeiros no momento da alta hospitalar ao paciente transplantado renal. Método: Estudo de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo descritivo. Cenário: Centro de Diálise e Transplante de um hospital público em Niterói; entrevistas ocorreram em agosto de 2014 com 6 enfermeiros do setor. Resultados: Duas categorias: saberes e práticas dos enfermeiros acerca das orientações para alta hospitalar ao paciente transplantado renal e educação em saúde para alta ao paciente transplantado renal. É necessária a elaboração de um plano visando ao preparo para a alta hospitalar e cuidados para o domicílio. Conclusão: Os enfermeiros possuem o saber necessário relacionado ao transplante renal, porém não conseguem transmiti-lo de maneira satisfatória em virtude de inúmeras razões, tais como falta de tempo, de pessoal e de uma padronização da assistência de enfermagem.Palavras-chave: transplante de rim, enfermagem, alta do paciente.
This is a dissertation project as part of the Professional Master's in Healthcare Nursing, Fluminense Federal University. Aims: To develop a protocol for nursing guidelines for the discharge of renal transplant patients from hospital; to identify the practices performed by nurses at the moment of hospital discharge for renal transplant patients, and describe the knowledge that guides their activities at that time. Method: This is a descriptive study in which a qualitative approach will be used. The scenario will be the Dialysis and Transplant Center (DTC) of a public hospital located in the city of Niterói, Rio de Janeiro; the six nurses employed in the Center will act as subjects.
