La Confederación Latinoamericana de Terapeutas Ocupacionales (CLATO) es una organización civil, sin fines de lucro, creada en 1997. Colombia es uno de sus miembros fundadores. El propósito de la CLATO es desarrollar la profesión en la región, fortalecer la identidad y ampliar los campos de acción y cooperación internacional entre las asociaciones, instituciones y organizaciones de estudiantes y profesionales de los países participantes, a través del intercambio de opiniones y acciones gremiales, académicas, científicas y sociales. La situación actual desencadenada por la pandemia y otras realidades plantean retos en diferentes aspectos, algunos de los cuales han sido objeto de reflexiones y acciones al interior de la CLATO y se esbozan en esta editorial.
Objetivo: describir el rol de la terapia ocupacional en la inclusión laboral de personas con discapacidad física en Colombia. Métodos: revisión sistemática integradora de literatura mediante búsqueda en bases de datos como Scielo, Dialnet, Google Shoolar, catálogos Latindex, repositorios universitarios de Chile y Colombia y revistas de terapia ocupacional chilena y argentina, así como de ocupación humana; se tuvieron en cuenta documentos publicados entre 2018 y 2021. Se usaron los descriptores: terapia ocupacional e inclusión laboral, terapia ocupacional en discapacidad física, inclusión laboral y discapacidad física. Para producción de datos se utilizaron como categorías de análisis: conceptualización, modelos de inclusión laboral, pasos del proceso, rol del terapeuta ocupacional en el proceso. Resultados: los conceptos de discapacidad, inclusión y el proceso de inclusión están basados en el modelo social y la normativa vigente del país y a nivel internacional, se evidencia baja integración de la disciplina en los procesos, pero se reconoce la importancia del terapeuta ocupacional. Se resaltan términos como integración, inserción y reinserción laboral y ajustes razonables. La metodología colombiana propone como componentes: sensibilización y movilización del sector empresarial, fortalecimiento técnico de las instituciones de rehabilitación en inclusión laboral. En cuanto al referente, los autores coinciden en elegir el modelo social de la discapacidad que da tratamiento a la persona con esta condición, contando el contexto social y a los actores con roles como: el empleador, los compañeros de trabajo y el terapeuta (quien realiza análisis de puesto de trabajo, inducción al puesto y seguimiento de los resultados esperados). Conclusiones: el proceso de inclusión laboral en Colombia, identificado por la revisión integradora, mostró soporte normativo que lo sustenta, que se aborda por modelo social de esta condición y el modelo de inclusión laboral. Se hace evidente la definición del proceso y los pasos a seguir, no obstante, existen barreras que impiden que la población con discapacidad acceda al proceso y dejan por fuera a los trabajadores informales.
El objetivo de este estudio fue determinar la prevalencia del riesgo para alteraciones del desarrollo de lactantes de una región del sureste de México, utilizando el instrumento de valoración neuroconductual del desarrollo del lactante VANEDELA. Los niños identificados fueron aptos para recibir estimulación temprana o rehabilitación. Se estudiaron 118 lactantes con edades de 1 a 24 meses, con un promedio de 6,4 meses, con riesgo leve para alteración en un 34 %, riesgo alto en un 7 % de los lactantes y el 59 % desarrollo normal. En la valoración de conductas del desarrollo, la mayor prevalencia de afectación se presentó en áreas de los sistemas motor fino (27,3 %) y cognoscitivo, lenguaje en un 25 % en todas las etapas. El 12 % de lactantes de 4 meses presentó reacciones del desarrollo ausentes y un 6 % de la muestra tuvo signos de alarma, razón por la que fueron remitidos para valoración en el laboratorio de rehabilitación. La prueba VANEDELA fue suficientemente precisa para determinar el riesgo de alteraciones del desarrollo neuroconductual, siendo un test tamizaje utilizado en población aparentemente sana y para sugerir programas integrales de atención temprana o fortalecer los existentes.
