Objective: This study aimed to develop spectrophotometry ultraviolet (UV) method by area under curve (AUC) to determine the levels of isoniazid (INH) and pyridoxine hydrochloride (PDX) in commercial tablets. Methods:Spectrophotometry UV method by AUC tested is carried out by optimizing the type of solvent, methanol, mixture of methanol, and phosphate buffer pH 4, pH 5, and pH 6 at a ratio of 90:10. The AUC value of each spectrum in various concentrations is calculated to selected wavelength range analysis. Then, this method was applied to determine the levels of INH and PDX in commercial tablets. Results:The application of AUC spectrophotometry UV method for determining the levels of INH and PDX was performed on wavelength range 262.2-272.2 nm and 289.8-299.8 nm, respectively. The selection of wavelengths based on wavelengths gives the best result. The mean % recoveries were found to be at 99.69% and 101.09% for INH and PDX, respectively. Conclusion:The method is successfully applied to analyze INH and PDX in pharmaceutical formulation simultaneously with no interference from excipients as indicated by all validation parameters which were within the acceptable range.
Obat anti tuberkulosis primer sebagai standar terapi tuberculosis sering digunakan dalam bentuk kombinasi untuk memperoleh efektivitas pengobatan dan mencegah timbulnya resistensi. Salah satu bentuk kombinasi tersebut adalah kombinasi INH dan vitamin B6. Kombinasi ini bertujuan untuk untuk mencegah efek samping dari INH yaitu neuritis perifer Namun, kombinasi bahan aktif tersebut dapat menimbulkan masalah dalam analisis kuantitatif untuk kontrol kualitas sediaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis secara mean centering of ratio spectra pada analisis isoniazid dan vitamin B6 secara simultan pada sediaan tablet tanpa adanya pemisahan. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengembangkan metode spektrofotometri teknik mean centering of ratio spectra pada analisis simultan INH dan vitamin B6 pada sediaan tablet, kemudian dilakukan uji validitas metodenya berdasarkan parameter validasi yaitu liniearitas, akurasi, presisi, selektivitas dan sensitivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi secara mean centering of ratio spectra pada penetapan kadar INH dan vitamin B6 berhasil diterapkan untuk analisis formulasi farmasi secara simultan, tanpa gangguan dari eksipien serta hasil parameter validasi berada dalam kisaran yang dapat diterima. Degenerative disease is a disease experienced by many people, such as hypertension, coronary heart disease, diabetes mellitus, gout, and others. Pharmacists play a role in providing information and education about health, primarily pharmacological and non-pharmacological drugs. The purpose of the activity is to increase public understanding regarding degenerative diseases from the side of treatment by pharmacists by adopting a healthy lifestyle and understanding the importance of health checks as the first step to early detection of degenerative diseases. The implementation method is in the form of health checks in the form of blood pressure, cholesterol, uric acid, and blood sugar levels so that it can be early detection of degenerative diseases. Information and counseling services by pharmacists regarding healthy lifestyles and information related to treatment and degenerative diseases using brochures and individual direct delivery. The activity was carried out in Ndokum Siroga Village, Karo Regency. The service results were carried out at the village hall with 35 participants. The activity was full of enthusiasm, and many questions arose during the service by the pharmacist. It is known that participants' understanding of degenerative diseases is very low, with only 24% who know about degenerative diseases, 32% who know the symptoms of the disease, 27% who know the risks, and 30% who apply preventive and promotive efforts. 14% of participants do not know that they have the degenerative disease, so it can be concluded that this activity is very helpful and provides good benefits to the community.
