An appropriate theoretical framework may be useful for guiding the development of physical activity interventions. This review investigates the effectiveness of the protection motivation theory (PMT), a model based on the cognitive mediation processes of behavioral change, in the prediction and promotion of physical activity participation. A literature search was conducted using the databases MEDLINE, PsycINFO, PubMed, and Web of Science, and a manual search was conducted on relevant reference lists. Studies were included if they tested or applied the PMT, measured physical activity, and sampled from healthy populations. A total of 20 studies were reviewed, grouped into four design categories: prediction, stage discrimination, experimental manipulation, and intervention. The results indicated that the PMT's coping appraisal construct of self-efficacy generally appears to be the most effective in predicting and promoting physical activity participation. In conclusion, the PMT shows some promise, however, there are still substantial gaps in the evidence.
This study indicates a potential for toombak, higher than for Swedish snuff, to damage human oral epithelium. Dysplastic oral keratinocytes were less sensitive than their normal counterparts, suggesting that they might have acquired a partially resistant phenotype to toombak-induced cytotoxic effects while still being prone to DNA damage that could lead to further malignant progression.

Trà Vinh is the coastal province located in the Southeast of the Mekong Delta. Although the size of economy and level of urbanization are still limited, Tra VinhProvince has achived recently a relatively good growth rate (a province among leading group in the economic growth of the Mekong Delta in 2018). The objective of the study is to analyse and clarify the potential strengths of Tra Vinh Province from the logistics and supply chain management perspectives, thereby prosposing the development of Tra Vinh Province as an economic and logistics hub of the Mekong Delta. The study will take an approach from consideration of the potential strengths of Tra Vinh Province in relation to regional development and in the linkage between the Mekong Delta to the Southwest region and Ho Chi Minh City. At the same time, logistics and supply chain management of Tra Vinh Province will be analyzed systematically comprising basic components such as logistics institutional framework, logistics infrastructure, logistics service providers, and human resource.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
