In this modern era equipped with technologies, the crime rates are increasing exponentially. This requires newer methodologies to identify a person who is a victim as well as the perpetruator. Automated biometric systems helps in identifying the individuals by the stored information in the database which are unique for each individual. Some of the important methods are ngerprint biometrics and iris scanning. As these methods involves soft tissues they cant be relied upon during mass disasters like burn accidents and gas leakage accidents. Hence, a biometric system using the hard tissue is required for better identication of the individuals. Thus, Ameloglyphics is introduced to aid in identication of individuals died during mass disasters and it plays a vital role in forensic odontology. This review highlights this technology in detail.
The incidence and mortality rate of oral cancer have increased throught out the world. Early detection through different investigatory methods and newer screening approaches are very important to reduce the mortality of this disease. Sensitive and specic Biomarkers for oral cancer are not only used for effective screening but also the use extends in diagnosing, and even for staging. . Advancement in technology in genomics, proteomics and molecular pathology have increased the clinical value of biomarkers. Clinical signicance of biomarkers can be used to combat oral cancer. Hence, we have reviewed the importance of biomarkers for oral cancer.
Pain is an undesirable sensation that any person would never want to experience. Dental pain is unbearable as the inflammation of the dental pulp is encased by hard dentin and cementum unlike other parts of the body and that deteriorates the normal lifestyle of the person experiencing it.
