Impacto del seguro subsidiado en el acceso y uso de servicios de salud: el caso de Medellín, Colombia Resumen: El seguro subsidiado de salud es una política pública para mejorar el acceso a los servicios de salud de los colombianos más pobres. Con el objetivo de evaluar el impacto de esta política en Medellín, y con información de la Encuesta de Calidad de Vida (2008), se usa la técnica de apareamiento por índice de propensión a participar, la cual permite encontrar un grupo de comparación semejante al grupo beneficiario; así mismo, se usan los estimadores de estratificación, vecino más cercano y de densidad de kernel para calcular el tamaño de los impactos. Se encontró que el seguro subsidiado tiene impactos positivos en el acceso a servicios de salud para mayores de diez años; en los menores de cuatro años y en las mujeres de 15 a 49 años se observan impactos positivos tanto en el uso de servicios de consulta preventiva como en hospitalización, y en hombres mayores de 50 años se hallaron impactos negativos en hospitalización, pero positivos en el uso de consulta preventiva.
