Asumir una perspectiva homogenizante en el estudio de la política en América Latina impide ver los matices de las culturas políticas locales. Por esa razón las divisiones entre derecha e izquierda, que a menudo se plantean para analizar los fenómenos políticos de la región, resultan insuficientes y polarizantes. Este trabajo propone la categoría «ciberparamilitarismo» con la intención de mostrar otras formas de acercarse a la política colombiana contemporánea, considerando además las afectaciones mutuas entre tecnología y sociedad. El enfoque discursivo de grupos paramilitares en las páginas Web de 12 bloques de las Autodefensas Unidas de Colombia (AUC) permite asimismo revisar la forma como la disruptiva digital también ha implicado la globalización del crimen organizado y la expansión de discursos de polarización política.
Introducción. Los movimientos sociales suelen comprometer también a las instituciones, colectivos y múltiples formas de organización y manifestación cultural y política. Ellos convocan prácticas de acción colectiva que usan múltiples formas (Pleyers, 2018, p. 11) Los movimientos enlazan pluralidad de acciones formales e informales, privadas y colectivas, estatales y sociales, políticas y culturales. Los movimientos se distinguen de las olas culturales en la medida en que son una de las maneras como se concretan y, por lo tanto, organizan la pugna por los usos, alcances y significados de las olas culturales. Hoy, ellos hacen uso de las redes sociales para ampliar sus demandas y reivindicaciones.
Método. Mediante breve revisión de literatura y un Análisis de Redes Sociales (ARS) este artículo se propone reflexionar sobre cuáles son las amenazas y riesgos para la seguridad en la era digital, a partir del uso y apropiación de las redes con este fin.
Resultados. La revisión indica que las redes sociales (social media) constituyen una de las estrategias que están usando los movimientos sociales para hacer eco de sus demandas y reivindicaciones. No obstante, es la desinformación la que genera confusión y estimula la alineación a partir de la manipulación de las emociones y pasiones de la audiencia.
Conclusiones. En el ecosistema informativo digital, que se debate entre caos y control, es la desinformación una de las principales causas de la manipulación de la opinión pública y del sesgo de la lectura de los ciudadanos frente a la legitimidad y legalidad del paro social en contexto de pandemia en Colombia. La tendencia a reforzar los puntos de vista propios a través de las cámaras de eco y filtros de burbuja limita la capacidad de deliberación pública y de verificación de hechos, lo cual resulta una amenaza a la posibilidad de abrir verdaderos caminos de reivindicación para los movimientos y de estabilidad para el Estado.
