Journal of Power Sources, Elsevier, 2019, 420, pp. Abstract:In this paper, we develop a facile UV-derived in-situ dual-reaction to prepare a flexible poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)-based solid polymer electrolyte (SPE), which is applied for ambienttemperature all-solid-state lithium battery. By modifying the amorphous domain of PEO through crosslinking with tetraglyme (TEGDME) and introducing a rigid linear oligomer of tetraethylene glycol dimethacrylate (TEGDMA) into the matrix, a SPE is obtained with high ionic conductivity (2.7 × 10 -4 S cm -1 at 24 °C) and enhanced mechanical strength. The as-prepared SPE shows superior electrochemical properties with decent lithium transference number of 0.56, wide electrochemical stability window above 5 V vs. Li + /Li and low interfacial resistance. By means of galvanostatic cycling studies in Li//Li symmetrical and LiFePO 4 //Li cells, we further demonstrate that the SPE exhibits excellent cycling performance with minimization of lithium dendrite formation.

Two‐dimensional (2D) nanomaterials (i.e., graphene and its derivatives, transition metal oxides and transition metal dichalcogenides) are receiving a lot attention in energy storage application because of their unprecedented properties and great diversities. However, their re‐stacking or aggregation during the electrode fabrication process has greatly hindered their further developments and applications in rechargeable lithium batteries. Recently, rationally designed hierarchical structures based on 2D nanomaterials have emerged as promising candidates in rechargeable lithium battery applications. Numerous synthetic strategies have been developed to obtain hierarchical structures and high‐performance energy storage devices based on these hierarchical structure have been realized. This review summarizes the synthesis and characteristics of three styles of hierarchical architecture, namely three‐dimensional (3D) porous network nanostructures, hollow nanostructures and self‐supported nanoarrays, presents the representative applications of hierarchical structured nanomaterials as functional materials for lithium ion batteries, lithium‐sulfur batteries and lithium‐oxygen batteries, meanwhile sheds light particularly on the relationship between structure engineering and improved electrochemical performance; and provides the existing challenges and the perspectives for this fast emerging field.

Multiporous MnCo2O4 microspheres are fabricated via the solvothermal method followed by pyrolysis of carbonate precursor to demonstrate excellent bifunctional catalytic activity toward both the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Because of this multiporous structure, the resulting MnCo2O4 microspheres show an efficient electrocatalytic performance in LiTFSI/TEGDME electrolyte-based Li–O2 batteries. MnCo2O4 microspheres as the air cathode deliver better performance during the discharging and charging processes and good cycle stability compared with that of the Super P. This preliminary result manifests that multiporous MnCo2O4 microspheres are promising cathode catalysts for nonaqueous Li–O2 batteries.
